Our Story

The Heart Behind Paws 4 Christ

Paws 4 Christ is a faith-rooted mission devoted to helping people care for their beloved pets during life’s hardest seasons.

Founded in Houston, Texas, by Beth Kishbaugh with the love and support of her husband, Dan, the mission grew from personal experience. Together, Beth and Dan have fostered over 50 dogs, served in animal rescue, and cared for Beth’s mother full time. Each chapter revealed a deeper understanding of what it means to show up for others when life gets hard.

As Intake Coordinator and Board Member for Houston Beagle Rescue, Beth encountered countless elderly and ill pet owners struggling to care for their companions. The heartbreak was often quiet but always real. These stories stirred something deeper. They sparked a calling to step in, offer help, and reflect the compassion of Christ in action.

What began with one couple’s willingness to serve is now growing into a community. Volunteers are joining the mission, bringing with them open hands and faithful hearts to provide practical support for both pets and people.

Starting in Houston, Paws 4 Christ envisions a nationwide network of care that meets needs, offers peace, and reminds each person we serve that they are not alone.
